The Role of Trustees in RDA

Group Trustees are people who serve on the governing body of the Group (the Board). They may be known as Trustees, Directors, Board Members or Committee Members.

Group Trustees have ultimate responsibility for the general control, administration and management of the Group.

The main duties of an RDA Trustee

a) Protecting the Assets of the Group - It is the Trustees' role to protect the assets of the charity. In most cases this means money but it would also apply to other assets (horses, buildings, etc.).

b) Strategy - It is the Trustees role to define the longer-term plans and aspirations for the Group.

c) Responsibility to meet legal and operational needs.

Trustees serve as volunteers and can receive no payment for their work.
