Although the main aim of Riding for the Disabled is to provide therapy by riding, as it has developed over the last 50 years, more and more opportunities have been created to allow riders to show off their riding skills and compete.

Every year riders are able to participate in local competitions and fun days as well a Regional Qualifier and huge National Show at Hartpury College.

The Regional show moves venue each year within the region and has been held at the Crosby Group in Little Crosby, Mobberely in Cheshire, Reaseheath College in Cheshire and in 2013 it was held at our very own Beechley Stables in Allerton.

The National Championships have been based at Hartpury College in Gloucester for nearly 20 years. Originally it was just a dressage event that ran on the Saturday and Sunday but now the  show is spread over three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) and holds a huge range of events including Dressage, Dressage to Music, Vaulting, Show Jumping, Carriage Driving and Handy Pony. There is also an art and photographic competition as well as a musical ride competition (pre-filmed and sent in for judging).
